‘Winter’: Portrait of Caroline Scott, later Marchioness of Queensberry (1774- 1854), daughter of Henry, 3rd Duke of Buccleuch, as a child, full-length, in white skirt and black cloak, with black hat, her hands in lace-edged red silk muff, standing in a snowy landscape beside a tree, with a robin perched near her and a terrier at her side looking up at her. Dated ‘1777’ and with identifying inscription.
